This song was nine months in the making. Which when added to the thirteen years of the title is also the time that the subject matter has been around.
13 was the first single written together by the whole band. We started 2020 with a vision of a more collaborative and sociable approach to songwriting and recording - crafting melodies and arrangements together around a title picked from the black hat. Although we haven't been able to be in the same room we have tried to maintain sociability with weekly virtual rehearsals and idea sharing sessions.
All recordings, mixing and mastering were done at home. Nathan has been in the producers chair, balancing lo-fi DIY recordings with the energy and feeling the songs deserve.
Abby has been crafting the videos, working with images, effects and ideas to take the songs to another dimension.
